Welcome to the BitTorrent.org forums.  We invite developers to use these forums to coordinate future development of the BitTorrent protocol suite.

If you have an idea, look through the existing BitTorrent Enhancement Proposals (BEPs) to see whether the idea has already been addressed:

Also familiarize yourself with the BEP process as described in

After familiarizing yourself with the related proposals and the BEP process, post your idea to the BEPs forum and collect initial comment.

After collecting initial feedback, if you think your idea warrants a BEP then write a draft and submit it to editor@bittorrent.org.  For technical proposals, a draft need not have a complete implementation but the author should believe the draft is sufficiently detailed and unambiguous to render an implementation.  Once the draft is submitted to the editor, the editor will assign a BEP number and post the BEP draft to the bittorrent.org web site.
