Identify seeders and use P2P to distribute video content

Hello,

I would like to know the following scenario is possible. I want to use the P2P network to reduce my CDN costs. Therefore I want to be able to use a system similar to Bittorrent DNA to distribute my UGC content.

However I would like to pay for my seeders bandwith. I would also like to protect my videos with some form of security.

Is there any provisions to do such a thing ?

Thank you.

Protecting your content with security functions falls outside of the scope of the bittorrent protocol.

Crediting seeds requires that you are truly able to trust the numbers their clients provide you with for uploaded amounts (which you can't).

Thank you for your reply.

Ok, I will address the concerns of security separately. My question is how do sites that have upload/download ratios monitor their users ? I understand that in any setup, there would be flaws but could this system be used to grossly exaggerate bandwith consistently by non power users  ?

Is there any workaround or solution for this ?

Thank you once again.

They monitor by assuming (stupidly) that they can indeed trust the numbers that clients provide. Because of how uploaded and downloaded stats are reported, it's trivial to fake the numbers.

There is no solution or workaround that lets that accounting work properly.
