More obvious BEP status naming conventions

Users and bloggers frequently point at BEP0008 (tracker obfuscation) and treat it like it was already (almost) finished, the best thing since sliced bread etc. etc.

I think this is especially the case since it's lumped together with other things that already are de-facto standards and have been around for ages.

Just compare tracker obfuscation and DHT. Both are draft/standards track but while the DHT is implemented by many clients and has been around for years the obfuscation thingy is in its infancy at best.

Re: More obvious BEP status naming conventions

In response to your valid comments, I have divided BEPs into different tables based on their status.  See http://bittorrent.org/beps/bep_0000.html

In particular, the tracker obfuscation proposal has been demoted to "Deferred" status.  If there are no objections, it will eventually be withdrawn.

I may further move several of the proposals that are essentially de facto standards to the "accepted status," but I will discuss this with Bram Cohen first.

Re: More obvious BEP status naming conventions

I believe 8472's issue has been addressed.  Other than 8472, there have been no comments regarding the BEP process (BEP-0001).   The draft has Bram's blessings and therefore proceeds from "Draft Process" to "Process."  The community is still invited to comment.  That it is no longer marked as draft does not meant that the process cannot be amended.
