BitTorrent Energy Efficiency

I simulated BitTorrent using Peersim simulator. Now I was wondering how could I make BitTorrent more energy efficient? What parameters do you believe, I should change in the configuration file, and what about the source code? Do you have any idea? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
