Hi,
I use bittorrent download on a LAN environment, for school and classrooms. I would like to see P2P LAN use to avoid use of WAN bandwith, as we install/download same package on several LAN computers.
I would like to see a Bittorrent protocol to discover LAN peers, without need to use an external tracker, seeding... even without WAN connectivity. Maybe using DHT and some node discovering?
I presume, from my very beginers point of view, that adding such functionality (LAN Peer) to DHT should be easy and very convenient on those LAN environment where I am sharing same file over several PC, so I can gain speed (no WAN use, or minimal) and reduce resources.

Or you could just use the local peer discovery function already present in some clients assuming you're not filtering multicast on your internal network.

Thanks.... what clients are using the local peer discovery function?
